Construction Project Manager
The Role
The Construction Project Manager will be based at our Samlesbury site in Lancashire, with flexibility for hybrid working (minimum 3 days on site).
The role involves coordination of design, procurement oversight, and construction planning for facilities at UK and international locations, including infrastructure upgrades, utilities installation, refurbishments, and new builds.
The role supports bid activities and transitions into design post-contract award, with design and procurement managed by professional services/consultants, while the candidate oversees client-side aspects.
This position offers diverse work across operational sites, expanding knowledge and experience, with travel within the UK and overseas, including the Middle East, for client interaction and site orientation.
Role Responsibilities:
Interpret site customer requirements, develop design requirements, specifications, implementation plans, and financial business cases.
Coordinate and manage project teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver design and construction activities.
Manage projects through RIBA stages and approval processes to meet objectives.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and control costs.
Resolve design, construction, and SHE issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage prequalification, tendering, and construction implementation activities.
Monitor progress against plans to achieve milestones.
Ensure projects adhere to quality procedures.
Oversee health & safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Degree in Construction, Building Services, or Facilities Management; other disciplines considered.
Strong understanding of RIBA process and design delivery within time, cost, and quality constraints.
Extensive experience in construction project installations.
Relevant health & safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH).
Proven contractor management experience in compliance with CDM 2015.
Excellent supplier management and communication skills.
Flexibility for travel and working at various locations, including overseas.
Project Management qualification preferred.
International construction experience desirable.
Security Requirements: SC & ITAR
