As a Manager, Software Engineering on the Sydney Core Tech team within Teamfight Tactics, you will collaborate with a diverse leadership team to lead passionate engineers in developing internal and shared tools that empower developers and collaborators to create exceptional game experiences for our players. You will also work on improving workflows and content creation efficiency. Since Teamfight Tactics is a multi-platform game supporting PC, Android, and iOS, experience with cross-platform development is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
* Define an engineering vision with the team and key stakeholders, including Technology, Product, and Process Leads.
* Develop a strategy supporting this vision, including resource reallocation to prioritize key initiatives.
* Focus on efficiency, productivity, and high-value work prioritization.
* Recruit, interview, and hire software engineers to scale the team.
* Mentor engineers, identifying opportunities for their growth.
* Manage team health and performance with empathy, building trust and inspiring resilience.
* Encourage diverse perspectives in problem-solving, basing decisions on sound analysis and minimizing biases.
* Provide technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle, enhancing software quality and efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
* 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead & mentor.
* Experience shipping products on large, multi-platform codebases.
* Ability to collaborate across departments to develop solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience with technology stacks such as Game/C++, Frontend/JS, Services/Java.
* Mobile and/or multi-platform development experience.
