Role Overview This role will define the vision, policies, standards, and operating model for data governance while partnering closely with business, risk, compliance, and technology teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring data is trusted, well-managed, secure, and aligned with regulatory expectations from day one. Key Responsibilities: Governance Strategy & Operating Model Design and implement the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models Establish governance forums, operating model, and decision-making processes Align governance strategy with business objectives and regulatory requirements Data Management, Quality & Controls Develop and embed data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring processes Implement data quality issue management and remediation workflows Define controls to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness Establish metadata management practices, including data catalogues and business glossaries Implement data lineage standards to ensure transparency and traceability Risk, Technology & Adoption Ensure compliance with financial services regulations and support audit readiness Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to embed governance controls Evaluate and implement data governance tools and integrate with data platforms Engage senior stakeholders and lead governance forums and working groups Drive organisational adoption through training, communication, and culture change initiatives Required Skills: 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines Proven experience building data governance frameworks from scratch (greenfield experience highly desirable) Strong knowledge of financial services regulatory environment Experience with data governance tools and platforms Deep understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data lifecycle management Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills Experience working with data architectures (data lakes, warehouses, cloud platforms) Preferred Qualifications Experience in banking, insurance, asset management, or fintech Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations Relevant certifications (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, CDMP, DCAM) To apply for this role, send your CV to Kyle at kcimenti@fourquarters.com.au or apply via the link provided.
