Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 AUD per annum (commensurate with experience)
We are currently seeking an experienced Stationary Plant Operator (nec) on behalf of our client, Hillcroft Farms Pty Ltd, a leading integrated piggery and agricultural enterprise located in Lol Gray, Western Australia. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a hands-on role in the operation and maintenance of plant equipment critical to farming and feed milling operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
In line with the ANZSCO classification - Stationary Plant Operators nec, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating and monitoring feed milling equipment including mixers, pellet mills, crushers, conveyors, and blowers
- Managing grain handling systems, including augers, silos, grain dryers, and storage bins
- Performing routine servicing, maintenance, and minor mechanical repairs on stationary plant and associated machinery
- Operating fertiliser blending equipment for crop production inputs
- Adjusting plant settings to meet production and quality standards
- Recording input and output data, monitoring plant performance, and reporting faults or malfunctions
- Complying with safety protocols and procedures in all plant-related activities
- Supporting general farm operations where required, particularly during peak seasons
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be considered, applicants must meet one of the following:
- Hold an AQF Certificate II or equivalent, plus at least 1.5 years (20+ hours/week) of relevant post-qualification experience; OR
- Hold an AQF Certificate III or higher, plus at least 1 year (20+ hours/week) of relevant post-qualification experience; OR
- Have at least 1 year of full-time (38+ hours/week) relevant work experience operating stationary plant equipment
Additional Requirements
- Experience with feed mills, grain handling systems, or similar agricultural processing equipment
- Sound mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and address basic faults
- Understanding of safety procedures in an agricultural or plant environment
- Ability to work independently in a rural, team-based setting
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (advantageous)
- Prior experience in farming or piggery operations highly regarded
