Job Title: Manager - Project Planning Team
The Project Planning Team within the Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) is seeking a Manager to lead the team responsible for planning and developing facilities that are cost-efficient, sustainable, and support educational outcomes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual who embraces change and strives for continuous improvement to manage the work of the Project Planning Team (Renewals & Growth Projects).
This role focuses on maximizing the value of existing school infrastructure through refurbishments, upgrades, and capacity expansions, ensuring facilities remain fit for purpose and aligned with contemporary educational needs.
This is a temporary vacancy until 02 April 2026, unless otherwise specified.

As a Manager within the Infrastructure Services Division, you will report directly to the Project Director of Project Planning. Your responsibilities include leading and developing Planning Officers, engaging with diverse stakeholders, providing strategic advice, supporting continuous improvement, and promoting best practice initiatives.

You Will Have Responsibility For (but Not Limited To):
Overseeing the development and review of key project planning artefacts and deliverables, ensuring alignment with departmental goals, quality standards, and regulations.
Fostering a collaborative team environment, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and professional development of team members.
Monitoring project progress, addressing issues or risks, and ensuring milestones are met on time.
Supporting project prioritization based on strategic importance, resources, and service needs.
Engaging with external and internal stakeholders to foster positive relationships and effective communication.
Managing team resources and monitoring utilization to optimize performance.
Supporting procurement of external resources as needed.
Collaborating with the Director, Project Planning, Managers, and other specialists to identify and support process improvements, artefact refinement, standardization, and alignment with best practices.
Staying informed about industry trends and integrating relevant innovations into departmental practices.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should possess leadership capabilities and relevant experience in strategic communication, stakeholder collaboration, and translating strategy into practical actions. You should be adept at driving change within the division and facilitating a culture of change management in capital infrastructure planning, design, and innovation.
