Our client an industry leading meat processing company are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join the team. Reporting to the Reliability Manager, the Maintenance Planner is a key contributor to plant performance, supporting a high-performing Maintenance Team to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
This role is critical to maintaining plant reliability and continuity within the abattoir, with a strong focus on planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner works to minimise downtime, improve equipment performance, support production targets, and ensure compliance with safety, food quality, and regulatory standards.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and other assets
* Coordinate closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimise maintenance timing
* Liaise with external contractors and vendors to deliver planned maintenance activities
* Partner with site engineers and supervisors to develop annual budgets and cashflow forecasts
* Support the Reliability Manager in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and uptime
* Develop and continuously improve maintenance strategies
* Maintain and enhance SAP PM master data
* Plan and coordinate annual shutdown activities
Your Background
* Proven experience in a similar maintenance planning role
* Electrical or mechanical trade/qualification preferred
* Strong knowledge of OH&S requirements
* Solid experience using SAP for maintenance planning and work management
* Understanding of maintenance planning processes and best practices
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Shutdown planning experience is advantageous
