Who We Are
Newman & Pengilley is a small but social, fast-paced but friendly family-run legal firm based in the regional center of Tamworth, New South Wales. We provide high quality general practice legal services across New South Wales, with a focus on property and business law, estate planning, estate administration and some Family Law.
Who You Are
We are seeking a highly motivated Paralegal or Legal Administration Assistant with extensive experience in conveyancing and general property law, wills, estates and family law. You will feel comfortable managing competing deadlines and working independently when necessary, and also thrive when working with others as part of a small, tight-knit team.
Your Skills & Responsibilities
• Creating and managing LEAP matters;
• Creating and managing PEXA workspaces (subject to Solicitor review and signing);
• Creating (from Solicitor direction) Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Enduring Guardian Appointments;
• Compiling Contracts for sale of property, Leases, Mortgages and other property related documents;
• Calculating figures (for example, for settlement of property and finalizing estates);
• Preparing Estate Administration documents (Probate, Letters of Administration and asset redemption claim forms);
• Interacting with clients in the office, by telephone and by email;
• Interacting with other legal offices, conveyancers, estate agents and related entities.
You Will Bring
• Minimum five years (or full time equivalent) experience in conveyancing;
• Additional experience in estate planning and estate administration preferred;
• Familiarity with LEAP legal software (or similar software platform);
• Experience using PEXA (substantial experience preferred);
• Advanced literacy and numeracy skills;
• High attention to detail;
• Impeccable customer service skills.
