* Ongoing Part Time working 37.5 hours per fortnight over a 5-day roster
Take on a pivotal administrative role where your skills in organisation, customer service, and attention to detail will directly support patient care within the Day Surgery Unit. As a Medical Records Department - Day Surgery Admission Clerk, you will manage admissions for both elective and emergency patients, ensuring accurate registration, records management, and a seamless patient experience. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with patients, clinical teams, and administrative staff, contributing to the efficient operation of Day Surgery services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Welcome and assist patients arriving at the Day Surgery Unit.
* Accurately register elective and emergency admissions and complete all required forms.
* Verify admission type, insurance coverage, and obtain necessary approvals and patient consents.
* Provide clear explanations to patients about admission processes and requirements.
* Scan, compile, and maintain medical records in line with standards and retention policies.
* Prepare Medicare slips and manage payment processes where required.
* Retrieve and deliver medical records to authorised staff.
* Support relief staff by providing training and guidance on admission and records processes.
* Opportunity to learn additional Administration roles within the Operative Theatre Dept.
* May also be required for additional backfill of leave cover.
