Your role will be centred on driving continuous improvement, adapting to change, fostering collaboration, and ensuring rigorous adherence to WHS procedures and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and improve the Safety and Health Management Systems with a hands-on approach that reflects your trades or heavy industry experience.
Offer strategic WHS advice to senior management, translating complex standards and legislation into actionable guidance for operational staff and tradespeople.
Assist and guide teams to adopt effective safety and health processes that comply with regulations.
Lead investigations, audits, and site inspections, identifying risks, and crafting preventative strategies that resonate with staff from wide-ranging operational and trade backgrounds.
Develop health and safety reports and manage WHS programs, aligning with rehabilitation and safety training needs of staff, including tradespeople and apprentices.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable experience in trades or heavy industry, with adeptness in WHS legislative compliance and the ability to manage operational and trades staff in safety practices.
Proven track record of effective communication, capable of steering a multi-tiered team comprised of trades personnel and apprentice mentoring.
Strong knowledge of identifying and mitigating specific hazards and risks within building construction and maintenance.
While there are no mandatory requirements, WHS experience in construction, maintenance, or similar industry and Certificate IV in WHS is highly desirable.
