Practice Nurse
Job type: Permanent position | Full-time position
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per year (including salary packaging options)
Job description and responsibilities
* Perform ECGs, draw bloods, swabs, etc. as required in the treatment room
* Engage in health promotion activities
* Administer medication and monitor/manage doctors' bags, supplies and cupboard
* Wound management and dressings
* Assist in minor surgical procedures, including fracture repair, suturing, etc.
* Triage patients and administer immunisations as directed by GP
* Provide assistance with health assessments, chronic disease management activities
* Assist reception staff in general reception duties
* Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards of the clinic
* Chaperone where required/requested
* Complete e-Health uploads each quarter
* Other administrative duties as directed by Practice Manager
* Manage vaccine fridge, supplies, and infection control
* Contribute to patient triage, care coordination, and documentation
* Support chronic disease management and patient health assessments
* Maintain high clinical standards and assist with accreditation processes
* Participate in risk management and quality improvement processes
* Record incidents and near misses in line with practice policy
* Maintain patient and practice confidentiality at all times
Experience/Qualifications required
* Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration
* Previous experience in general practice nursing preferred
* Skills in wound care, immunisations, and clinical documentation advantageous
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
