Barto Gold is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer operating since 2009, focusing on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation includes a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, three active underground mines, two open pits, with recent mines starting in 2025 and planned for 2026, as part of the company's 5-year plan aiming to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028.
This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth. The role is permanent, on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with BIBO from Perth or DIDO options available.
About the role:
As the Senior Site Surveyor, you will implement, maintain, and manage underground mine surveying activities, oversee statutory compliance across the site, and provide guidance to the open pit survey team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and ensure underground and open pit survey work is completed, including:
- Survey tasks in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
- Maintain accurate mine model updates.
- Prepare and issue Development Memos to the Mining Department for planned development.
- Manage diamond drill collars and directions.
- Check surveys as the mine development advances.
- Calculate End of Month Volumes and Advance.
- Provide the underground mining team with accurate information for weekly and monthly planning.
- Participate with the underground mining team to develop and implement production plans.
- Conduct surface surveys as required, including stockpile and dump pickups, surface excavation pickups, and prism monitoring.
About you:
- Tertiary Qualification - Degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying.
- Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate.
- Competency in mine software, preferably Deswik or Surpac.
- Experience with equipment such as Leica, Trimble, Optech, CMS, and Drones.
- Familiarity with Windows packages including Word, Outlook, Excel.
- 2+ years open pit survey experience.
- 3-5+ years underground survey experience.
- Current WA Manual Drivers Licence.
