Overview
Support stronger, more resilient NSW communities by delivering disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives in collaboration with local governments, industry and community stakeholders. Positions are available in Albury (ongoing), Orange, and Dubbo (temporary, with possible extensions). Salary ranges from $113,574 to $125,720, plus superannuation.
Locations
* Albury – Ongoing
* Orange – Temporary until 27 February 2026, possible extension
* Dubbo – Temporary until 27 June 2026, possible extension
Key Responsibilities
* Support and deliver projects that enhance local government capacity to manage infrastructure, utilities and business continuity during disasters.
* Facilitate information sharing and coordinate resources to support community participation in disaster planning and recovery initiatives.
* Assist communities through rebuilding and relocation processes, ensuring programs align with local needs.
* Drive best practices in community engagement, staff capability development and knowledge‐sharing initiatives.
* Consult with local governments, the private sector and relevant agencies to assess disaster response and recovery capabilities.
* Prepare reports, correspondence and briefs to support informed decision-making within the Authority and other government bodies.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
* Proven experience in disaster management, community engagement or policy implementation.
* Strong project coordination and resource management skills.
* Robust ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical and problem‐solving capabilities.
* Effective communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and briefs.
* Adaptability and a proactive approach to addressing community needs.
* Knowledge of NSW Emergency Management arrangements and Incident Control Systems such as AIIMS.
* Willingness to travel within NSW to support operational roles during disasters or emergencies.
* Current, unrestricted driver's licence.
