Leading ASX listed organisation is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead their growing engineering team and help shape the future of their award winning SaaS product. This role is part leader, part coach, and part hands-on technologist.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & inspire the team – set direction, provide clarity, and help engineers do their best work.
- Grow people – hire, mentor, and support team members in their careers.
- Work closely with Product, Design, and other teams to turn ideas into high-quality software.
- Keep standards high – champion positive coding practices, testing, security, and scalability.
- Balance now vs next – make smart calls on tech debt, deadlines, and future-proofing.
- Shape how they work – improve processes, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration to keep moving fast without breaking things.
- Be a connector – translate between technical and non-technical teams, making sure everyone stays aligned.
About You
- You’ve been a skilled software engineer yourself and know what good code looks like, demonstrated experience with the .NET languages and frameworks (including Framework and Core) or Java language and frameworks
- You have a high degree of understanding of SQL, in particular T-SQL
- You’ve managed development teams before and genuinely enjoy helping people grow.
- You have experience building SaaS products, ideally in a cloud-native environment.
- You know Agile/lean practices but aren’t dogmatic about process.
- You’re great at prioritisation — focusing the team on what matters most.
- You’re curious, collaborative, and always looking for better ways to do things.
