Assistant Director 
to join our warm, play-based early learning community for a 
12-month maternity leave cover position 
.

About the Role 
As Assistant Director, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the service, supporting the Centre Director and team in delivering high-quality education and care. You will be a role model for educators, championing a philosophy that places children\'s agency, curiosity, and creativity at the heart of learning. 
Key Responsibilities 
Support the Centre Director in leading and managing the service 
Ensure compliance to licensing and regulations (National Quality Standard, National Law and Regulations (ACECQA), Early Years Learning Framework 
Build strong relationships with children, families, and educators 
Foster a culture of collaboration, reflection, and professional growth 
Promote play-based learning aligned with our values and vision 
About You 
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent 
Minimum qualification of Diploma level in Early Childhood Education and Care is required 
Demonstrated leadership or management experience in Early Childhood Education and Care 
Minimum 6 months of leadership or management experience in Early Childhood Education and Care is required 
A strong understanding of the NQS, National Law and Regulations, Early Years Learning Framework and the importance of play in early childhood development 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
A commitment to supporting each child\'s journey as a self-motivated, responsible learner

As Educational Leader, you will mentor and guide educators in curriculum planning, reflective practice, and intentional teaching strategies. You\'ll collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure our philosophy is deeply embedded in daily practice and documentation. 
Key Responsibilities 
Lead curriculum development that celebrates play, inquiry, and each child\'s individual learning journey 
Mentor and inspire educators in pedagogy, documentation, and planning 
Support a collaborative, reflective team culture 
Maintain strong partnerships with families to support holistic development 
Uphold the service\'s philosophy and values in every aspect of educational practice 
About You 
Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care 
Previous experience as an Educational Leader or in a leadership role 
Minimum 6 months of experience as an Educational Leader or in a leadership role is required 
In-depth understanding of the EYLF, NQF and the principles of play-based learning 
A reflective educator who values collaboration, curiosity, and innovation 
Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
