Markets Enforcement is part of the Markets Group and is responsible for taking enforcement action (including disruptive action) on matters such as continuous disclosure, insider trading, market manipulation, licensing obligations and misconduct by retail OTC issuers. Markets Enforcement investigates suspected market misconduct and takes formal enforcement action in response to suspected breaches of the Corporations Act and Market Integrity Rules. This includes commencing civil proceedings, working with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) to secure criminal convictions and taking administrative action through the Market Disciplinary Panel. The role As a Senior Investigator, you will make a critical contribution to Markets Enforcement by managing complex cases and leading investigations to reach defined milestones and outcomes. You will be responsible for driving investigations across a diverse range of matters, and working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, to identify key evidence to actively progress cases. Your work will involve conducting intelligence searches, interviewing witnesses and persons of interest, leading search warrant operations, and preparing briefs for civil and criminal proceedings. As a senior member of the team, you will play a vital role in shaping investigation strategies, presenting findings to Senior Executives and Commissioners, and representing ASIC in engagements with external stakeholders. About you You will have strong investigative and analytical skills, backed by a relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience. You have a proven ability to plan, lead and conclude complex investigations, ideally within financial services, law enforcement, regulatory or corporate environments. You are experienced in a range of evidence gathering techniques, including executing search warrants and using statutory powers, and have prepared briefs for civil or criminal proceedings. Skilled at analysing complex data and using digital tools, you also excel at presenting complex information clearly to a range of audiences. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience applying relevant legislation, such as the Corporations Act, will be highly regarded.
