Position : Mental Health Clinician Portland Adult Team
Employment Type:
* Permanent Full-Time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO. Part-time applications are welcome – please indicate your preferred hours in your application.
* Fixed Term - Parental Leave Cover
Part Time 64 hours per fortight until March 2026
* Location: Portland Campus
* Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3, Social Worker/Occupational Therapist Grade 2/Psychologist Grade 2
* Salary Range: $88,030 – $112,091 per annum, (pro rata) plus superannuation
South West Healthcare's Portland Community Mental Health Service is offering full-time ongoing and fixed-term parental leave positions for compassionate Mental Health Clinicians. This role is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Psychologists—all disciplines are encouraged to apply. You will work within a multidisciplinary team providing specialised mental health care to adults aged 26–65 across the Portland region.
Our team delivers recovery-focused support, including crisis intervention, therapeutic care, and long-term recovery planning for people living with complex or enduring mental illness.
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care to individuals, families, and carers, engaging community and natural supports to help consumers achieve their goals and improve their mental wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting assessments and developing individualised recovery and treatment plans
* Managing a clinical caseload with outreach-based support
* Delivering evidence-based interventions to consumers, carers and families
* Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
* Building community partnerships and supporting service development
* Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
* Participating in clinical supervision, ongoing training, and professional development
What you bring:
As the successful applicant you will be a compassionate and motivated clinician with:
1. A recognised qualification and registration in one of the following:
2. Registered Psychiatric Nurse (with AHPRA)
3. Occupational Therapist (with AHPRA)
4. Psychologist (with AHPRA)
5. Social Worker (eligible for AASW membership)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* A genuine passion for recovery-focused mental health care
