About Koojan Downs Feeding Facility

Koojan Downs feeding facility is located 25kms from Moora and 160kms north of Perth. Koojan Downs is part of the integrated beef supply chain for Harvest Road. This integrated beef supply chain ranges from north to southwest of Western Australia and is based on best-practice ecological planning and animal welfare management.

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanic to play a key role in keeping a busy cattle feedlot operating.

With the help of the Apprentice Mechanic and maintenance team, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of feedlot plant and equipment, ranging from light vehicles, trucks, generators, earthmoving equipment and feed milling equipment.

You will be self-motivated and willing to relocate to a rural environment (this is a 10:4 roster).

Located near Moora, WA we are WA's largest feeding facility and are designed to supply Harvest Road's processing facility, Harvey Beef.

Please note:

* This is a permanent position, those on short term/working holiday visas will not be considered. This is not a FIFO role.
* You will need to have a current driver's licence and own transport.

Key Responsibilities of the role

* Always demonstrate commitment to safe working practices.
* Service and repair various plant and machinery types, including and not limited to utilities, trucks, feed milling and handling equipment, generators, earthmoving equipment etc.
* Facilitating the maintenance program for plant and machinery.
* Managing the spare parts inventory including ordering of parts and equipment as required.Maintaining an efficient and safe workshop.
* Assist with the procurement of replacement plant and machinery.
* Travel to other properties within the group when required.
* Current driver's licence, with HC/MC highly regarded.
* Strong focus on safety and quality of work.
* Good communication and record keeping skills.
* Recent relevant experience working on trucks and earthmoving equipment.
* Attention to detail and independent self-starter.
* Ability to pass a police and medical check.
