Operations Assistant - Call Taker/Dispatcher

The Role
Based in Midvale at our Head Office, we are looking to appoint an Operations Assistant - Call Taker/Dispatcher to join our current Operations Team and Fleet schedulers with customer service, job allocation and billing. The role is fulltime but also supports flexible working hours and may suit individuals wanting to work either day shift or afternoon shift as well as some weekend shifts, making the role attractive to a variety of individuals. Regular overtime is available may be required to ensure all daily tasks are completed. We are looking for someone who stands out from the rest as this is not your average operations role. Our operations room is a fast paced environment and we are committed to providing excellent customer service. Every day is different and brings about a new challenge, someone who is quick thinking, can problem solve, work well in a team but also as an individual would be well suited to this position. Whilst our preference is for full time, we may also look to appoint multiple part time team members to fill the role.
Responsibilities
* Answering phones to liaise with customers to quote jobs and answer queries.
* Entering job bookings using custom allocation software.
* Assist other Operations staff with tasks as required.
* Daily customer billing.
* Generating job or driver reports to assist with billing.
* Liaise with drivers via two-way radio and telephone as required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Customer service skills with prior experience in transport and logistics or similar.
* Using initiative and resourcefulness to find solutions for customers.
* Ability to manage and resolve disputes over the phone.
* Must be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to multi task. The operations room is a fast paced environment.
* Excellent knowledge of the Perth metro and regional areas.
* Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
* High level of computer skills including Microsoft Office.
* A flexible approach to work with the ability to prioritise, organise and dispatch jobs in a busy environment.
* Provide administrative support in other departments once trained as required.
* C Class Drivers Licence is essential.
* Knowledge of the Transport Industry including MRHVA, regulations and vehicle makes and models is desirable.
* Ability to work independently but also part of a team is essential.
* Swan Towing is a 24/7 business therefore successful candidates must be available for a weekend shift and public holidays on a monthly roster basis.
