Full-Time Stonemason Wanted
We are seeking a skilled Stonemason to join our experienced team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring stone and masonry surfaces.
Key responsibilities include:
* Interpreting architectural drawings and technical specifications to identify required materials, accurate measurements, and planned construction or installation procedures.
* Preparing base surfaces by applying moisture-resistant treatments to foundations and laying mortar beds to support stone or block installations.
* Aligning and leveling installed masonry work, verifying both vertical (plumb) and horizontal (level) alignment throughout construction.
* Using power and hand tools to precisely cut, trim, shape and finish stone blocks or slabs adapting pieces to fit irregular shapes or custom designs.
Required skills and qualifications include:
* Relevant qualifications in stonemasonry.
* A minimum of one year's experience in a similar role.
* Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings and construction specifications.
* Strong understanding of stone types, masonry materials and appropriate bonding or mortar techniques.
This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $75,000 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
