About the Position
As a key point of contact for visitors, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and providing assistance with a range of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver friendly, helpful customer service across the library and museum environment
* Maintain tidy and organized displays and collections
* Respond to inquiries about services and facilities or refer to the relevant team member when needed
* Process loans, returns, registrations, shelving, and user research efficiently
* Inspect items for condition and report any issues
* Handle payments accurately
* Assist visitors with basic technical/computer issues
* Contribute to opening, closing, and securing the building
* Support administrative tasks, research, and project work as required
* Train new staff, volunteers, and work experience students on the job
* Attend training sessions and team meetings to stay up to date
* Support operational functions to ensure seamless daily service delivery
* Follow policies on Equal Opportunity, WHS, and environmental safety
* Report hazards and contribute to a safe and respectful workplace culture
* Perform other duties within the scope of the role as directed
About You
We are seeking someone who is friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic about helping others. A strong ability to work independently and good data entry skills are essential.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a similar environment, along with a solid understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements. A valid driver's license and willingness to undergo a national police check are also necessary.
