DevOps Administrator Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure management, automation and security.
* Provide Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 support for SDTE services.
* Assess risks and reduce risks to the availability, performance, security and compliance of products and services impacted by changes.
* Plan and manage hardware and software maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves executing the change request lifecycle: registering, assessing, authorising, planning and deploying. It also includes automating tasks through scripting, coding, orchestration tools and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices. The DevOps Administrator will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure security through regular updates, patch management and adherence to cybersecurity policies and established industry practices.
In addition to these responsibilities, the DevOps Administrator will monitor infrastructure performance and its impact on efficiency, performance, security posture and sustainability. They will execute standard operational procedures, including backups and restorations, and carry out agreed system software maintenance. They must also automate routine system administration tasks to specifications using standard tools and basic scripting.
Maintaining and optimising technology infrastructure is an essential part of the role, which involves executing updates and employing automation tools. The DevOps Administrator will configure tools and/or create scripts to automate infrastructure. They will design and document system operational, change and security procedures, and use infrastructure management tools to monitor load, performance and security metrics.
This role requires the ability to investigate and enable the resolution of operational and security-related issues. Contributes to the planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance and updates. Defence experience is highly desirable.
Due to the nature of the role, the candidate must be an Australian Citizen with NV1 clearance or have the ability to obtain it.
