The Senior Coordinator Resource Recovery Operations is responsible for leading the delivery of Council's waste and resource recovery services, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operations across kerbside collection and processing contracts. The role oversees operational waste planning for future developments, monitors and manages contractor performance, sets service standards, and resolves operational issues to drive continuous improvement against KPIs and regulatory requirements. You will coordinate service performance reporting, manage operational and service continuity risks, and ensure the ongoing delivery of essential waste services. In parallel, you will provide operational leadership for major initiatives such as the introduction of FOGO services, support procurement and contract lifecycle activities, and ensure waste operations align with Council's sustainability objectives, NSW Government targets and progress towards Net Zero.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Waste Management, Planning, Business Management, Environmental Science or equivalent technical skills and experience in waste management
* Demonstrated experience in managing the routine aspects of Waste Contracts
* Demonstrated ability to manage financial accounting
* Ability to evaluate and report on development applications to meet the waste requirements of Council
* Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively engage with the community, internal staff, external contractors and key internal stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in the management and delivery of quality customer service
* Sound written communications skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, reports and submissions
* Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and achieve targetsStrong analytical and problem solving skills
* Strong level of computer literacy using MS applications
