A national building contractor has appointed us to source a safety professional for a construction project in the southern region. The company is known for its flexible working culture, financial stability, and experience in various projects.
Typical projects include food and beverage, office, defense, health, aged care, and education with project values ranging from $5 to $50 million across Perth's metro area. This contractor provides a flexible working environment to ensure a good work-life balance.
The role could suit parents who need to balance work and family responsibilities and are available for part-time or full-time work. Based on site, south of the river, the job duties include:
Main Responsibilities
* Site inductions, pre-starts, and toolbox talks
* Assisting subcontractors in developing and documenting safe systems of work
* Conducting risk assessments, inspections, and audits
* Reviewing and monitoring subcontractor HSE performance
* SWMS reviews
* Obtaining permits
* Providing safety support and education to subcontractors
* Troubleshooting on-site issues related to subcontractor non-compliance
* Promoting a safety culture within working teams and maintaining a safe working environment
Requirements
Candidates must have the following criteria demonstrated in their resume:
* 2+ years of experience in commercial building projects
* 2+ years working as a Safety Advisor/HSE Advisor/Safety Officer for a building contractor
* Cert IV or Diploma in Safety/OHS
* The right to work in Australia and be based in Perth
