Essjay Psychology is a growing, clinician-led telehealth practice built by psychologists who genuinely care about how therapy is delivered — for clients and for clinicians.
We're a young service with momentum, skill, and heart. While we work entirely via telehealth, our aim is simple: to give clients the felt experience of an in-clinic service, without the friction. That same philosophy applies to how we support our psychologists.
Strong systems matter — but people matter more. Our admin team goes beyond "processing" to actively support clinicians by handling the chasing, the paperwork, the billing, and the back-and-forth with external systems, so your energy stays where it belongs: with your clients.
The Opportunity
We're inviting a psychologist to join Essjay Psychology as an independent contractor, working within a collaborative, supportive, and neurodiversity-affirming environment.
This role suits clinicians who value autonomy but don't want to feel isolated — who want the freedom of contractor work with the steadiness of a team around them.
We welcome both experienced psychologists and early-career clinicians who are seeking thoughtful guidance, peer connection, and a place to grow.
What Your Work Will Look Like
As a contractor with Essjay Psychology, you will:
* Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological services via telehealth
* Work with clients across a range of presentations, matched thoughtfully to your skills and interests
* Maintain clinical records using streamlined digital systems
* Set agreed working hours that suit your life and capacity
* Be supported by admin staff who actively manage referrals, billing, and external coordination
What We Offer Our Psychologists
Exceptional Administrative Support
You'll be supported by an admin team experienced across Medicare, TAC, WorkSafe, and NDIS. This includes following up case managers, organising case conferences, liaising with GPs, managing billing, and handling system queries.
If something needs chasing, waiting on hold, or coordinating, we'll take care of it — so your time stays with your clients.

Our Culture
We're relaxed without being casual, and professional without being rigid.
We value thoughtful clinical work, good systems, and treating people well.
We care about how therapy feels — for clients and for psychologists — and we take pride in creating an environment where clinicians feel supported, trusted, and able to do their best work.
We're a practice that reflects, improves, and adjusts as we grow. We enjoy what we do, we look after one another, and we take responsibility for getting things right.
