About the role

We are looking for an Allied Health Project Officer to undertake an exciting role focused on enhancing the capacity of allied health clinicians to deliver Assistive Technology solutions that support the independence and community participation of people with traumatic brain injury living in regional and rural NSW.

The project officer will be part of a larger state-wide project team led by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Research Group / Assistive Technology Hub based at the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research in Sydney and funded by icare NSW. The project is a partnership between the Ingham Institute, the University of Sydney, Charles Sturt University and Monash University and is collaborating closely with the Agency for Clinical Innovation NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program Directorate.

Theposition is responsible for an engagement with brain injury services, clinicians, and people with brain injuries across 4 hubs within Northern NSW. The Allied Health Project Officer will conduct needs assessments and service level environmental scans, coordinate and facilitate educational events to engage stakeholders at regional hubs, build linkages with technology suppliers, support clinicians in the practical application of AT, and help foster a network to sustain these efforts.

Please note, the position would suit an individual living in rural or regional Northern NSW and will require some travel.

The term of employment is 2 years and 9 months. Salary level is commensurate with NSW Health Service Health Professionals (Allied Health) State Award (2024) -

Level 3 between $112,396 - $116,038 p/a (plus superannuation & salary packaging), 1FTE contract.

Level 4 up to $124,607 p/a (plus superannuation & salary packaging), 0.8FTE contract.

About You

As an Allied Health Project Officer, the following essential requirements are needed for the role:

Degree in allied health with registration from the relevant Professional Association, Board or Authority.

Experience in working with individuals who have a traumatic brain injury or individuals with a cognitive impairment and their families within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Relevant knowledge and skills in the application of AT to facilitate independence and participation among individuals.

Experience in delivering supervision, mentoring, and or training to allied health clinicians.

Familiarity with planning and coordination needs for health-related projects and or events.

Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships, networks and relationships to achieve professional and team objectives.

Relevant knowledge related to quality assurance and service evaluation initiatives in healthcare settings.

Excellent organisational skills and strong computer proficiency.
