Valrose is partnering with a Perth-based organisation that builds and enhances digital experiences in complex, people-heavy environments.
They're looking for a UX Designer / Product Designer who leads with curiosity and evidence — someone who enjoys going deep on the "why", mapping messy workflows, and turning insights into clear, testable solutions.
This role suits a designer who's happiest when they can own discovery through to delivery: speaking with users, shaping requirements, prototyping, testing, iterating, and helping teams make confident product decisions.
What you'll be responsible for
Running user research (planned and opportunistic): interviews, discovery sessions, usability tests, synthesis
Converting research findings and business goals into precise product requirements and design direction
Mapping complex journeys and workflows (service maps, process diagrams, future-state experiences)
Designing and iterating solutions: wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity UI (Figma or similar tools)
Planning and facilitating usability testing independently — then iterating based on what you learn
Working closely with PMs, BAs and delivery teams to support refinement, planning and release cycles
Producing design artefacts that help engineering build the right thing (specs, flows, rationale)
Contributing to shared standards: design system thinking, accessibility and inclusive design practices
What you'll bring to the role…
* Your track record designing digital products where you've
spoken with users
, uncovered what matters, and turned that into decisions the team can build from.
* Your confidence running
research and usability sessions
end-to-end — planning them, synthesising what you learn, and using it to improve the experience.
* Your ability to untangle complex services and create clarity through
workflows, journeys, and service design thinking
.
* Your hands-on design craft — comfortable producing
prototypes and interface designs
in modern tools (e.g.,
Figma
or similar).
* Your ability to communicate clearly — you can explain the "why" behind a design and bring technical and non-technical people along with you.
* Your experience working in
cross-functional delivery teams
and keeping design moving through refinement, build and release.
Nice to haves:
exposure to complex service environments (e.g., higher education), familiarity with
WCAG/accessibility
, contributing to
design systems
, and comfort using analytics or mixed research methods to support decisions.
