We are currently seeking a highly experienced Commercial Manager to join our Civil division. This is a project-based role (with options of being Perth based or FIFO) located in regional Western Australia—an excellent opportunity for a driven professional looking to contribute to major infrastructure and resources projects with a respected industry leader.
Reporting to the Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Preparing detailed project budgets and forecasts presentations in line with End of Month reporting requirements
- Developing and managing asset costings and plant rates to support project efficiency
- Delivering accurate financial reporting and setting expectations for the Plant Commercial Team
- Manage other project staff in preparing cost report forecasts in their areas of responsibility
- Liaise with client project team on contractual matters
- Monitoring cost expenditure and supporting the Project Manager, Project Director and Engineering team in cost control
- Assisting with the implementation and improvement of company management systems
- Preparation of variation pricing and coordination of submissions as required on the project
- Preparation and management of all Delay and Extension of Time claims associated for responsible works
- Commercial management for all of sub-contractors such as that for progress claims, correspondence and variations
- Responsible for the correct and accurate implementation and application of the NRW business systems for cost control, accounting, purchasing, payroll, plant etc. on the project
- Management of monthly cashflow forecast
To be considered for this role it is essential to have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary Degree in Commerce, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering
- Relevant experience as a Commercial Manager or similar position in the Civil sector with resource experience
- Substantial experience in management accounting, cost control and cost reporting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels
- Strong attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of contract terms and conditions
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
