About The Role
Sutherland Shire Council is seeking Early Childhood Teachers to join our Early Education & Child Protection team on a casual basis. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality care and education for children from birth to six years, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing every day. You’ll also take on a key leadership role by guiding learning programs, mentoring educators and working closely with families to help each child thrive. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in our community.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, planning, and delivery of high-quality, play-based learning programs for children aged 0–6 years.
- Mentor and guide other educators to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
- Act as a role model for pedagogical leadership and reflective practice.
- Observe, assess, and document children’s learning and development.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Current First Aid qualification (HLTAID012).
- NSW Working with Children Check.
- Current Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025).
- Current NESA Teacher Accreditation (Proficient Teacher level or above).
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families and colleagues.
- A commitment to inclusive practices and supporting children with diverse needs.

- Package: $64 - $68 gross per hour plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Casual hours. Applicants must be able to work a range of shifts from 6am - 7pm.
