**Your new role**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Technician to join the Canberra equipment team. As a Field Service Technician, you will have the opportunity to take part in all mechanical work involved in repairing, maintaining, and servicing of turf maintenance related equipment. You will be provided with a work vehicle, a laptop, a phone, and all uniform and training will be provided. No two days will be the same as you will travel between designated work sites to complete all maintenance requirements. This is a perfect opportunity for somebody such as a Diesel Mechanic or Forklift Mechanic who is wanting to step away from long working hours and heavy machinery and take on a role with more work-life balance. Some duties of this role may include;
- Repairing of systems such as diesel and gasoline engines, as well as hydraulic systems;
- Valve adjustment, checking compression, and isolating major engine related failures;
- Removing, repairing, and replacing engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical and other major components;
- An understanding of diagnostic equipment;
- Undertaking parts ordering, invoicing, gathering servicing information, or any other duties performed by the service department in accordance with company systems;
- Diagnose and locate mechanical/electrical faults and making necessary repairs in accordance with correct procedures outlined in service manual.
**What you'll need to succeed***
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience with various types of turf equipment, recycling equipment or construction equipment such as tractors, lawn mowers, garden tractors or golf course equipment;
- Ability to determine mechanical defects which cause engine, transmission, hydraulic or electrical system failures;
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to establish respectful relationships with colleagues and business customers;
- A valid Australian driver's license;
- Ability to use and test and wide range of diagnostic equipment in order to determine mechanical or electrical faults;
- Be well-presented and have a polite and professional manner.
