Job Title: Head of Special Education Services
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead and manage our special education services in the North Queensland Region. This is a temporary relieving position that may be available for up to 6 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating high-quality advice and support from the Special Education and Early Childhood Development Programs. They will lead and manage these programs, providing expert advice to classroom teachers on effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities as needed.
About the Role:
* Lead and manage the Special Education and Early Childhood Development Programs.
* Provide expert advice to school leadership and staff on planning and implementing effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.
* Coordinate and provide targeted teaching for students needing intervention.
* Manage case management for students requiring significant adjustments.
* Support staff in accessing specialist services and professional development.
* Engage in school decision-making and contribute to school goals and vision.
* Implement and manage systems to monitor and record data on students with disabilities.
* Form partnerships with parents, government agencies, and community groups to support students with disabilities.
* Oversee human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Special Education or related field.
* Experience in leading and managing teams.
* Expertise in special education and early childhood development.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
