We have a full-time role working in the Townsville City and Aitkenvale locations.

Job Description

As a Support Mentor at Bamara, you will play a crucial role in supporting and guiding parents to achieve their education and employment goals. Your primary responsibility will be to provide mentorship, advice, and assistance to parents who are participating in the Parents Pathway program. Your main tasks will include:

* Meeting with parents to assess their individual needs, goals, and challenges.
* Developing personalised pathways and plans to help parents overcome barriers to education and employment.
* Providing one-on-one mentorship and support to empower parents in achieving their education and employment objectives.
* Connecting parents with relevant community services, resources, and training opportunities.
* Monitoring progress and providing ongoing guidance to ensure parents remain on track towards their goals.
* Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to create holistic support networks for parents.

Skills And Experiences


Desired Skills and Experience

* Proven experience in providing support and guidance to individuals facing barriers to employment or education
* Must have a minimum of Certificate III in Community Services.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored support plans for clients
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse client groups
* Knowledge of local community resources and support services available to parents and caregivers
* Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation in line with program requirements
* Understanding of the challenges faced by parents seeking to re-enter the workforce or pursue further education
* Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
* Working with Children Check
* Drivers licence
