About the role

The Community Researcher role works closely with the Congress Research team to contribute to designing and conducting research that are safe, ethical, and culturally responsive, fostering meaningful community participation. This position engages with Aboriginal community members and research participants to support all stages of research including design, data collection, analysis, and knowledge translation.

To be considered for this position

* Is of Aboriginal descent; identifies as an Aboriginal person; and is accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community
* This position is a female-specified. Do you identify as female?
* Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. health, community service, social science or public health) or equivalent work experience.
* Extensive experience working in research, including demonstrated understanding of research ethics and integrity including the ability to handle sensitive data responsibly and adhere to ethical guidelines in all stages of research.
* High level knowledge and understanding of community dynamics and cultural considerations relevant to the central Australian Aboriginal context.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders including local community members.
* Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations on occasions.
