An established and growing insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Claims Consultant to join their dedicated claims function. Your new role
Reporting to the Claims Director, you will manage your own diverse portfolio of claims and provide best in class service to clients. You will work closely with brokers, underwriters, assessors and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth end to end claims management.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing a portfolio of claims, delivering excellence in end to end claims handling.
* Working directly with clients to understand their needs and collaborating with brokers for optimal outcomes.
* Conducting evidence-based investigations, analysing information and preparing claims recommendations.
* Negotiating settlements with insurers, underwriters and legal representatives.
* Investigating potentially fraudulent claims.
* Maintaining accurate records, preparing correspondence and keeping clients updated throughout the claim journey.
* Managing expectations and leveraging networks to achieve favourable solutions.
* Escalating customer complaints in line with RG 271 Internal Dispute Resolution requirements.
* Ensuring claims processes, documentation and internal systems are maintained to compliance standards.
* Supporting internal projects, audits, reporting, operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Adapting to emergency or catastrophe response requirements on occasion.
What you'll need to succeed
* 3+ years' experience in a claims' role.
* Strong ability to interpret and summarise policy wordings, legislation and legal correspondence.
* Experience identifying key issues and escalating appropriately.
* Knowledge of RG 271 (Internal Dispute Resolution).
* Confident negotiation skills with insurers, underwriters and legal stakeholders.
* Proven experience in file reviews and delivering accurate, timely documentation.
* Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
* High level of commercial acumen and confidence advising on complex issues.
* Proficiency in MS Office; experience with WinBEAT and OfficeTech is advantageous.
