A growing and well-established business is looking to appoint a commercially minded, hands-on Finance Manager to lead its finance function and support the senior leadership team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and being embedded within the operational side of a business, not just sat behind the numbers.
Reporting directly to a Financial Director, you will lead a small finance team while remaining heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the department. This role offers genuine variety, visibility across the business, and the opportunity to influence processes, controls, reporting, and commercial decision-making.
The Role
Oversee the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and timely delivery across all core accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing a small finance team
* Managing purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, nominal ledger
* Producing accurate monthly and year-end financial reporting
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Maintaining robust controls, reconciliations, and compliance procedures
* Managing PAYE submissions
* Supporting audit requirements and statutory reporting
* Improving systems, reporting processes, and financial efficiencies
* Partnering with operational stakeholders across the business
* Providing commercial insight and financial support to leadership
About You
You will be a proactive and capable finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and operating within a fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:
* AAT qualification or similar
* Previous experience within a Finance Manager or senior finance position
* Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
* Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
* Experience managing or mentoring a finance team
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* A hands‐on approach with the ability to meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Manufacturing asector experience (desirable)
