Job Title: Senior Nurse Lead in Primary Care
About the Role:
As a Senior Nurse in the Primary Care team, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering healthcare services to a prison population. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide expert guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to ensure high-quality care is delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and manage the provision of primary healthcare services to inmates.
* Support clinical assessments, care planning, and discharge processes.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to new staff and ensure best practice standards are maintained.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality services.
* Assist in risk assessments, patient support, and harm minimisation strategies.
* SUPPORT quality improvement projects and participate in policy development.
* Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation and adhere to facility requirements.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A current registration as a Registered Nurse – Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).
* Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of quality improvement and evidence-based practice in healthcare.
* Experience working in a primary nursing setting, ideally within a forensic or correctional environment.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team.
* A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
