Job Title
A career as a Technical Procurement Officer presents an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to join a leading force in defence systems. The role is responsible for sourcing and procurement of make-to-order items from external vendors, managing on-time delivery and technical quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analysing specifications and drawings, sourcing quotes for supply of make-to-order materials and components.
* Communicate with vendors regarding specification and quality issues, request concessions following established processes.
* Work with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to meet production schedule objectives.
* Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver critical production items.
* Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors, update systems.
* Liaise with stakeholders to resolve queries and complete RFQ and purchase process.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials.
* Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded CIPS accreditations highly regarded.
* Comprehensive experience in international sourcing and procurement.
* Experience interpreting requirements, sourcing products and materials using engineering drawings and specifications.
* Experience working with ERP systems, MRP systems.
