About Our Client
Our client is a global industry leader seeking a Financial Accountant to join its high‐performing finance team on a 6‐month fixed‐term contract with strong potential to transition to permanent. This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant who thrives in a fast‐paced environment and enjoys a mix of financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement.
Job Description
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Ensure compliance with IFRS/AASB and internal reporting standards
* Support group consolidation and provide variance analysis/commentary
* Manage general ledger reconciliations, accruals, and month‐end close activities
* Assist with internal and external audit requirements
* Support statutory and tax obligations including GST, FBT, payroll tax, and income tax
* Maintain and strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance
* Partner with internal teams to provide financial advice and insights
* Contribute to system improvements, process optimisation, and automation initiatives
The Successful Applicant
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* CPA/CA qualified or studying towards (highly regarded)
* 2-4+ years' experience in financial accounting or reporting (corporate or audit)
* Strong understanding of AASB/IFRS
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics preferred)
* Excellent reconciliation, analytical, and problem‐solving skills
* High attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines
* Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability
