Position Information

Auburn Girls High School is a Year 7 to Year 12 high school with an academically selective cohort, an additional high potential and gifted class, and mainstream classes in each cohort. The school also has a support unit, and an active learning and support team. There is a strong focus on quality teaching, effective support for learning and wellbeing, and dynamic, creative, and positive learning environments. The school has an enrolment of approximately 860 students, 98% of whom have a language background other than English.



Auburn Girls High School has a well-established reputation for academic excellence, with consistently strong HSC and NAPLAN outcomes. This success is underpinned by a strong commitment to collective teacher efficacy, evidence-based teaching practices, and targeted whole-school strategies in literacy, numeracy and High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE). The school has developed a strengths-based Positive Education wellbeing framework that supports student engagement, resilience and academic growth within a culture of high expectations and academic rigour.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

* Demonstrated ability to lead the design and implementation of high quality, differentiated educational programs that meet the diverse learning needs of students from varied backgrounds and promote engagement and a culture of high expectations.

* Proven capacity to lead, inspire and develop a faculty culture that values high expectations, professional growth and collaborative practice with clear accountability and evidence-based impact on student learning and engagement.

* Demonstrated capacity to contribute effectively as a member of the school's executive leadership team, providing strategic leadership that drives whole-school improvement and fosters a positive, inclusive culture aligned with the school's vision and strategic directions.




General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
