The Logistics Coordinator (In-Plant) is responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day logistics and transport operations while embedded at a customer site. Acting as the primary point of contact, the role supports customer enquiries across warehousing, 3PL, transport, and logistics services, ensuring freight movements are executed efficiently and in line with agreed service levels. This position works closely with customers, transport partners, and internal teams to resolve issues, manage exceptions, maintain accurate reporting, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be supported by an Account Manager who is also on- site 3-4 days of the working week.
Core Responsibilities
* Act as the primary contact for customer enquiries relating to warehousing, 3PL, transport, and logistics services
* Manage day-to-day transport operations, ensuring freight movements align with customer and operational requirements
* Assist key stakeholders with transport enquiries, freight bookings, and customer escalations
* Coordinate freight schedules and demand planning with key transport partners
* Liaise with internal teams, account managers, and senior management to resolve issues and achieve desired outcomes
* Log and manage customer interactions using CRM and ticketing systems
* Administer and maintain BI reports as required by key decision-makers
* Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transport activity, and resolutions
* Identify opportunities to improve service levels, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
* Monitor shipments, resolve delays, and proactively manage exceptions
* Ensure compliance with agreed SLAs, KPIs, and customer requirements
* Support implementation of logistics solutions and continuous improvement initiatives
* Support additional customer service and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
* Previous experience in customer service, logistics coordination, transport operations, or supply chain
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel; experience with CRM or BI tools is advantageous
* Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
