Position: Sydney (Bella Vista) based with hybrid working. Full time permanent position within the Grocery category. Develop and execute Own Brand category plans in close collaboration with Category teams and Product Developers.
What You'll Do
* Work with a wide variety of stakeholders from both within the business and with our supply base and must therefore possess excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
* Develop an intimate knowledge of our products and our customer, as well as the ability to stay on top of category trends, technologies, innovation, competition and supplier capability within your category.
* Maintain intimate knowledge of sales and GP performance of categories by SKU & negotiate contracts on existing and new product portfolio.
* Deliver COGS reductions across the respective categories without impacting quality, through ensuring better buying and working collaboratively with our suppliers.
* Understand supply base capability and identify opportunities to nurture new supplier relationships to deliver long-term competitive advantage.
What You'll Bring
* Previous experience in Buying, with an emphasis on supplier development and procurement.
* Strong understanding of product componentry and cost makeup of goods, as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes, and impact on the cost of goods.
* Analytical skills and understanding of customer insights to make informed decisions.
* Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence with cross functional and external stakeholders.
* Previous experience in compliance with supply expectation KPI's, monitoring and acting upon KPIs to ensure supply continuity across the product portfolio.
