An exciting opportunity exists for a Fire Safety Engineer to join a growing building services and engineering consultancy in Perth. The role will suit an engineer with a passion for fire safety, performance-based design, and delivering innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop fire safety strategies and fire engineering reports in line with NCC, BCA, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Undertake fire modelling and evacuation analysis to support performance-based design.
- Provide technical advice on fire safety matters to clients, architects, builders, and design teams.
- Prepare performance solutions and manage submissions to regulatory authorities.
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary design teams on a range of projects including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with codes, legislation, and industry best practices.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates where required.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3–10 years’ experience in a fire engineering consultancy role.
- Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Building Code of Australia (BCA).
- Experience with computational tools such as FDS, Pathfinder, or similar fire modelling and evacuation software.
- Ability to prepare high-quality technical documentation and fire engineering reports.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
