Job Description

As a Data Governance Analyst, you will play a vital role in driving the development and implementation of our Personal Information (PI) retention and secure disposal policy.

This is a dynamic and challenging opportunity to work with a proactive and results-driven team that is passionate about delivering trusted banking solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain an up-to-date inventory of systems and data stores containing Personal Information (PI), partnering with IT teams.
* Classify and tag PI based on sensitivity and regulatory requirements to support proper handling and retention.
* Assess PI data holdings to identify aged data and evaluate governance, controls, and processes against regulatory requirements and Privacy by Design principles, recommending and prioritising remediation actions.
* Develop and document PI retention periods and support updates to related policies and procedures.
* Contribute to the design and delivery of a data retention and secure disposal framework aligned with legal and regulatory obligations.
* Work with Compliance, Legal, Technology, and Cyber Security to operationalise policy and mitigate risks.
* Oversee safe disposal and archival processes, ensuring audit-readiness and clear documentation.
* Provide guidance, track progress, and report on risks to senior leadership and governance forums.

Requirements:

* Experience in data mapping, requirements mapping, lineage analysis, or inventory assessments.
* Strong skills in working with both structured and unstructured data formats.
* Proficiency in Power BI or Excel for reporting and visualisation.
* A degree in Law, Privacy, or a related discipline, and/or a minimum of 3 years' experience in privacy or data governance.
* Knowledge of privacy regulations, records management, and compliance frameworks.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS), data storage technologies, and secure data disposal practices.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
* A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement.
* Proven ability to lead projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Experience managing change and taking responsibility for delivering measurable results.
