The Role
The Project Manager is responsible for policy research and development, contributing to evidence-based housing policy development that aligns with DHUD’s objectives. The Project Manager is also responsible for planning and implementing projects of varying complexity related to housing policy, fostering external partnerships and responding to the objectives and priorities of the Division. You will hold the following responsibilities:
- Support the development and refinement of housing policies and practices that align with DHUD’s strategic goals and objectives, ensuring they reflect current needs and future directions.
- Research and prepare comprehensive reports and submissions on complex policy and project matters, providing evidence-based insights to inform executive decision-making.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee a range of projects of varying complexity, including resource allocation, timeline management, and prioritisation of tasks to ensure successful delivery.
- Draft high-quality reports and correspondence for key stakeholders, including Cabinet Submissions, Ministerial and Chief Executive Minutes, and Parliamentary Briefing Notes.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement across DHUD by identifying and implementing innovative approaches, methodologies, and best practices to enhance policy, project, and service outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- Experience managing projects in complex policy environments.
- Experience in analysing policy or project challenges and identifying solutions.
- Experience in strategic planning or policy development.
- Experience in the infrastructure, housing or planning sectors.
- Experience in building strong positive working relationships.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
Remuneration
ASO7 $108,109 min – $116,864 max per annum.
