Transform Your Career with a High Voltage Role
We're seeking an experienced technician to join our team as a High Voltage Specialist. In this role, you'll take responsibility for the execution of scheduled programmed maintenance on our high-voltage distribution systems. You'll work closely with our maintenance team leader to ensure that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently, using quality systems to eliminate rework on equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience working with complex high-voltage systems. They'll be proficient in testing and maintenance procedures, including operational switching, fault finding diagnosis, and protection relay testing. They'll also be able to analyze alarms and protection system abnormalities, and identify preventative maintenance opportunities to maximize network reliability.

Job Description:
* Maintaining, repairing, and performing fault finding diagnosis on high-voltage distribution systems.
* Performing operational switching, including testing for dead, phasing out, and applying earths.
* Writing, verifying, and performing switching procedures, including issuance of access and test permits.
* Preparing, verifying, and issuing high-voltage documentation.
* Protection relays secondary injection testing.
* Primary high-voltage asset periodic and breakdown testing.
* Commissioning new high-voltage network installations and extensions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in senior test technician roles.
* Complex high-voltage protection schemes.
* IEC GOOSE.
* Mentoring and knowledge sharing with other technicians.
* Proficient in Omicron software test universe and primary test manager.
* Secondary system isolations.
* Protection relay software (ABB PCM600 desirable).
* Operational switching, testing, and maintenance on high-voltage assets.
* Switchgear, substations, overhead and underground distribution systems.
* Relevant trade qualifications, including National High Voltage Switching Operator certification.
