Respiratory Specialist Role
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Specialist to provide comprehensive respiratory services, focusing on oxygen therapy, clinical and ventilatory support, as well as sleep diagnostics and therapeutics. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct full respiratory assessments to meet client goals and needs, ensuring quality care.
* Initiate and manage CPAP therapy as prescribed, providing education and instructions on equipment use and maintenance.
* Conduct appointments and set up equipment for sleep diagnostic testing in accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine guidelines.
* Provide regular follow-up to clients to assess treatment effects, comfort, and compliance, recommending adjustments as necessary.
Requirements:
* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
* Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body.
* Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills and good knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and CPAP therapy.
* Valid driver's license and clear vulnerable persons check.
* Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
* Willingness to participate in a rotational after-hours on-call schedule.
* Fluent in written and spoken English, with French fluency if required.
