Global Medics is partnering with the Mid North Coast Local Health District to recruit a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist/Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Mental Health. The role is based in Port Macquarie, a coastal town offering a balanced work and lifestyle with access to outdoor activities, beaches and a welcoming community.
Responsibilities
Leads the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist psychiatric services to patients
Promotes patient safety and quality of care. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers where relevant
Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the Local Health District
Essential Selection Criteria
From the UK: Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) awarded under any RCPsych curriculum from August 2007 to date following satisfactory completion of a GMC or Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board approved specialty training program in psychiatry in the United Kingdom
From other countries: Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and Current Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
Demonstrated clinical skills and experience working with mental health problems in Adult Mental Health
Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
