They are currently seeking an experience Maintenance Fitter to join their team in a permanent full-time basis located in Banyo.
What You Will Be Doing
As a full time Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible to ensure the smooth running of the production floor machinery. The machinery servicing you will oversee will include laundry presses, irons, washes, conveyor belts, drives, pumps, motors and related production floor equipment.
Your main responsibilities will include;
- Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, components, and machinery across the warehouse and workplace.
- Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work instructions to carry out mechanical tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns to ensure machinery operates safely and effectively.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate tools and techniques and carry out repairs in a timely manner.
- Ensure all mechanical work aligns with relevant Australian standards, workplace legislation, and Holy Cross Services (HCS) policies.
- Maintain and update accurate records of maintenance activities, faults, repairs, and part usage.
- Monitor and manage inventory of mechanical tools, equipment, and spare parts in accordance with operational needs and organisational policy.
- Keep the Mechanical Workshop and all related maintenance areas clean, organised, and compliant with WHS regulations.
- Assist with other maintenance duties as required by the Maintenance Manager or senior trades staff.
- Be available for emergency and or breakdown work outside of normal working hours.
On a day to day basis, this role will take direction and instructions from the Maintenance Manager with regard to the fundamental tasks of performing general maintenance duties on the site.
Skills/Experience
- Trade Qualified Fitter, ideally in the Mechanical or Maintenance field
- Be able to work individually and as part of a team
- Previous experience in maintenance within the industrial industry
- Have knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes
- Pneumatics experience highly desirable
- Hands-on experience of mechanical equipment assembly or machine building.
- Willing to obtain a Police check
