About this role:
Are you a skilled contracts administrator with experience in the construction industry? Do you have a strong understanding of commercial administration and contract management?
We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Contracts Administrator. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for undertaking prequalification, preparing tenders, letting of contracts and providing contract administration services to manage the commercial and legal aspects of the contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
* Drafting scopes of works and tender packages
* Interpreting specifications and drawings to understand the scope of works
* Conducting prequalification of interested companies
* Managing and driving the review process to ensure the award of all work packages within the required time frame and budget
* Operating and maintaining John Holland commercial and contract systems
* Minimizing subcontractor variation claims and eliminating claims where possible
* Ensuring cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained
* Managing subcontractors to ensure compliance with relevant codes
* Assessing commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery, identifying and implementing controls
* Checking compliance and preparing reporting on commercial performance of the subcontracts
* Preparing payment schedules, and processing payment in a timely manner
What we're looking for:
We're seeking an individual with a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent. Relevant commercial administration experience in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or associated disciplines is essential. Post-graduate qualifications are desirable. Experience working with a Head Contractor as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor is also preferred.
