About the role
This unique opportunity plays a pivotal role in developing and maintaining java-based applications and systems, delivering scalable and secure solutions that support corporate compliance across Australia and international markets.
What you'll be doing
* Driving team performance, capability and development in collaboration with the Lead Developer and Product Manager
* Design, develop and maintain BGL web applications
* Troubleshoot complex software defects and resolve issues efficiently
* Drive process improvements, performance, scalability and functionality of products
* Stay up to date on industry market trends, engage in ongoing learning and best practise guidelines
* Ensure all client data and information is handled securely and in accordance with BGL Security Policies and secure development practices
* Mentor team of savvy developers and promote a collaborative and supportive team
What we're looking for
* 5+ years of experience in full stack development with a strong focus on Java, clean code and software craftsmanship
* Experience in Java and related frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
* Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (e.g. JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) and modern frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, Angular, React, Vue.js)
* Experience with database technologies (e.g. MySQL, Hibernate)
* Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development
* Proficiency with version control systems (Git is a plus)
* Demonstrated commitment to writing clean and testable code.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
