Job Summary
We are looking for an individual with proven knowledge of logistics and supply chain management to join our busy warehouse team at UHB's Meteor Park Distribution Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience managing a team to move into a role supporting the delivery of our core services. The position is a 12‐month fixed‐term post suitable for someone already in a similar role who is looking for their next challenge or someone who wishes to hone their skills in a fast‐paced logistics setting.
Main Duties and Tasks
* Responsible for day‐to‐day management of one of our shift teams, rotating hours on a 3‐weekly rota in line with other deputy logistics managers.
* Support the Logistics Manager / Operations Manager and manage logistics services at Meteor Park, including movement of materials from source to all serviced areas.
* Ensure services are managed professionally, suggest improvements, implement new techniques, organise work schedules and manpower, develop new work models and train staff.
* Lead responsibility on agreed projects and objectives related to logistics and warehousing services.
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education to GCSE or equivalent level.
* NVQ Level 4 or relevant equivalent experience.
* HND qualification and/or relevant experience (desirable).
Experience
* Experience of working in procurement / purchasing or warehousing.
* Knowledge of professional procurement principles and supply chain management.
* Experience in inventory control and distribution management.
* Experience managing teams and understanding stock‐taking procedures.
* Knowledge of operational procedures and experience in root cause analysis (desirable).
* Experience working in a hospital support services environment and liaising with senior stakeholders.
* Commercial awareness.
Salary and Contract
Pay scheme: Agenda for Change – Band 5. Salary £32,073.00 to £39,043.00 annually. Contract: Fixed Term, Duration 12 months. Working pattern: Full‐time, flexible working.
